The punters had been assuming that he was on his way and they have been busy backing him in the ante post markets for a while now but with the confirmation coming in today that he would, indeed, contest the Group 1 at Ascot; we are now seeing his listing drop down into an 8/15 or even 1/2 margin at a lot of major European bookmakers.

This is reflective of just how good this contender really is and a win here will do significant damage to his price for the 2015 Arc De Triomphe at Longchamp this October.

The Oppenheimer-owned Cape Cross colt is undefeated in his five starts and only went a single time at the age of two - beating out none other than respected Group 1 runner Storm The Stars by a head in an inauspicious Class 4 maiden at Nottingham a few days before Halloween. His performances since then have been a steady string of excellent efforts with his smallest margin of victory being one and a half lengths in a listed effort on his seasonal debut.

Tellingly, the three year-old bay has also formed an excellent relationship with Frankie Dettori, who really seems to be enjoying his time aboard the late-running colt. The pair showed off an entirely different set of tactics, however, when they ran at Sandown in the Coral Eclipse - beating out The Grey Gatsby by a solid margin of three and a half lengths.
