2015 King George VI & Queen Elizabeth Stakes PT 2

Lady Bamford’s Eagle Top will line up in this one off a second place finish at Royal Ascot in the Hardwicke Stakes.

The four-year-old son of Pivotal famously beat out Adelaide last year in the King Edward VII Stakes last year and has done some of his best running at Ascot. He has been running with Frankie Dettori up recently so that won’t be happening this time and the punters have him hovering around a 6/1 margin all the way up to 8/1 with a couple of books.
Flintshire is a recognizable runner who really has had a there-or-thereabouts sort of season with a steady succession of place finishes but a notable absence of breakthroughs as he heads into his fifth effort of the season. Typical of many of the Group 1 Juddmonte contenders as of late, he is showing up for the right races but just doesn’t seem to have that killer instinct that makes him a genuine cut above his competition.
You are never disgraced by finishing second to Treve so that last race should be seen as something to build on, having finished just a length and a quarter behind the living legend mare. Earlier this year the five-year-old Dansili finished second in the Dubai Sheema Classic to Dolniya and that’s really the reference race if you go back to it and assume it’s what they’ll be looking for here.
This contender has been up against many of the top flat runners from the past couple of years and now has to take on the latest high-class three-year-old colt. You reckon that his connections would love nothing more than to finally be the one to get one over Golden Horn.
