2015 Neptune Novices’ Chase Betting Tips PT 2

Ryder on February 24, 2015 19:25 GMTOutlander is the other Willy Mullins entry here, this time for the in-form Gigginstown House Stud, as they come into the race fresh off a Leopardstown victory in a Grade 2 novice hurdle contest. Clearly the b team runner here, he could have an opportunity to get up and move forward in this one but he lacks the clear resume that his stablemate has.

Parlour Games looms as a quality British-based runner as the John Ferguson charge enters with a pair of graded scores in his last two - capturing a Grade 1 at Newbury and, prior to that, a Grade 2 at Cheltenham. At this point in their careers, a novice hurdler boasting a victory at Cheltenham adds another bit of credibility as the horses for courses meme is truly in full effect in the opening two days at the festival.
He has had a pretty long season when you look at it, as he was active during the summer and even ran in the Galway Hurdle in Ireland - finishing up a disappointing sixteenth from twenty entrants with Barry Geraghty in the irons that day.
Douvan looms as a very interesting selection but he has just seen his price trimmed down to a 7/4 margin for the Supreme Novices Hurdle and books have him trading anywhere from 6/1 to 20/1 for this race. He is to be avoided at all costs at this point for the Neptune.
Windsor Park is also a very tricky selection at this stage as he’s priced at 10/1 here for this one while trading at a 16/1 margin for the Albert Bartlett’s. He has had some good results on the bumper circuit but is still without a graded victory over fences despite a decent second place finish to Nichols Canyon at Leopardstown back in early February. He possesses genuine pace but will need to jump perfectly if he’s going to get a result against this group.
Ordo Ab Chao is another really interesting selection and he’s trading at a 14/1 margin for this contest while he hovers at 25/1 for the Coral Cup and 20/1 for the Albert Bartlett’s. He is more in the mix than others though because of his last victory where he captured a Grade 2 contest at Cheltenham over a decent field of nine entrants to deliver for punters at 16/1. Keep your eye on him as he’s bang-on in each-way territory at the moment.
