2015 Queen Mother Champion Chase Tips PT 2

Sire De Grugy is considered to be a general 3/1 with the bulk of European betting outfits and it will be very interesting to see what his odds do on the day of the race.

Dodging Bullets has emerged as a real wise guy selection and can be had at 5/1 these days at a few different spots. He got the better of Sprinter Sacre in his third race of the season when he was sent off at 7/2 with Noel Fehily in the irons. He had Sam Twiston-Davies up when he got the better of a ten-strong field that included the likes of Somersby.

He’s proven that he can take races when he’s not going off as the favourite and he has rewarded punters who have stood by him. He looms as one of the more interesting selections here - horses like him tend to win this race.

Champagne Fever is also in the mix here but he’s got a co-entry to the Ryanair Chase that sees him not 100% aimed here. He’s trading at around 11/2 right now with most major bookmakers but he’s a 7/1 shot for the Ryanair. He was a disappointing fourth in the King George at Kempton on Boxing Day when he was sent off at 9/2 and looked like he was supposed to give Silviniaco Conti a real go. He also fell in a Grade 2 at Thurles and that adds question marks to his ability to finish the race - something that will contribute to punters being lukewarm about him.

Mr Mole is the really interesting selection here and he’s trading around 8/1 but can still be found at 9’s with a couple of outfits. He’s the only contender coming into the race with an undefeated 2014/15 season. He captured two Class 2’s and a Grade 2. Of those Class 2 attempts, the latter one - where he beat out a group of 7 was the better of the pair.

What makes Mr Mole even more interesting is the fact that this is the only race at Cheltenham to which he has an entry so you know that your late ante post money won’t be going to waste. At his 8/1 price, he’s probably not worth each way money but if you can get him at tens, betting four places would be a solid selection on the race.
