2015 Royal Ascot Day Two Betting Preview PT 3

American trainer Wesley Ward boasts Acapulco, one of his most widely-vaunted contenders for the entire meeting. She lines up at a very solid 6/1 price tag and boasts some very high-end connections considering the Tabor colours.

She failed in her first attempt at Churchill Downs in a relatively short race with Robby Albarado up. Now she switched over to the turf and could be set to make a real statement here after the first race appeared to be a bit of a glorified workout for the daughter of Scat Daddy.

The 3:40 is the Duke of Cambridge Stakes and we have a pretty strong favourite here with the likes of Integral, coming out of Sir Michael Stoute’s yard, looming large as a real player here. The five-year-old mare has been backed all the way down to an 11/10 price tag and that’s due her having actually won this exact race last year by a solid two length margin when sent off as the 9/4 favourite.

She is also set to take a considerable drop in class and could make a real impression here. She is a multiple Group 1 winner and has defeated some of the better fillies and mares in her division including Rizeena and Miss France. You’ll notice her last race was the Lockinge Stakes where she was fourth from 16.

Her main challenger appears to be the talented Euro Charline, who can be backed anywhere between 9/2 and 5/1 so she will be worth taking a look at if the betting favourite failed to make a really nice pre-race appearance.

There is a bit of a logjam with Cladocera, Rizeena and Bragging all hovering around the same 6/1 - 9/1 corridor before the odds then take a considerable jump up to 16/1 for Lightning Thunder and Evita Peron.
