2015 RSA Chase Betting Preview PT 2
- By A.J. Ryder on February 25, 2015 20:12 GMTIt’s also worth mentioning that a good portion of his career victories have come at Cheltenham so punters will get a little bit of extra confidence but the fact remains that he has not run against Graded opposition over the larger obstacles. Question marks still remain on Kings Palace and he will need to prove his chops at this level. The only entry he has in the festival is this race so at least you don’t need to worry about him running elsewhere.

Don Poli is coming in from Ireland and he looks to be another very strong contender for the talented Gigginstown House team trained by Willy Mullins. He’s only been out twice this year - taking his first attempt at chasing when he bested a field of 14 at Gowran Park back in November and then following that up with a smashing score at Leopardstown in the Topaz Novices Chase in late December.
He was able to get the better of Apache Stronghold and that’s going to see him come into this race with plenty of confidence as he has already gotten the better of some accomplished novice chasers. Expect his price to be significantly shorter on the day - particularly if he makes a very nice pre-race appearance.
Southfield Theatre is another interesting option here and he’s around 7/1 or 8/1 with most books but Bet365 have him listed at a massive 20/1 price tag for this race. He is only entered for the RSA so they must be up in the air about whether he will run or not. He was able to take three from four in this one and he boasts a Grade 2 victory at Wincanton from earlier on in the season.
When he wins, Southfield Theatre tends to win pretty comfortably but he blundered badly in his only loss of the season - which saw him finish second in a field of three at Newbury back in late November.
