2015 St Leger Betting Preview PT 1

We are now down to the final 11 contenders still in the mix for the 2015 St Leger which unfolds tomorrow at Doncaster. The feature contenders remain in the mix here and that's going to make this one a very fascinating betting contest with just a couple of genuine stand-outs in the mix for the outright win slot while the rest look to be in tough contention for the each-way positions in this fascinating long-distance contest.

Easily one of the best staying races in the world, this one has forced a number of big names into the idea of pushing on for the 1m6f distance in the final leg of the English Classic Season.

With just a couple of weeks left in the flat season itself we are already beginning to look towards Ascot for Champions Day and then onwards towards the International meets and the Breeders' Cup which unfolds at Keeneland this year.

Coolmore have the number one contender coming into the race here but it really varies based on the bookmakers that you are actually using to stake your wager with Order of St George right in the mix with Storm The Stars – who has had a rather lengthy season but looks to be bang in this one and is taking plenty of money from a rather confident betting public who think that his experience and guile will win out on the day.

Order of St George only really has the one big credit to his name and that's the recent Group 3 score at the Curragh over Sea Moon – granted it was by a smashing seven and a half lengths when sent off as the 4/6 favourite (that's definitely how you want a 4/6 favourite to win a Group 3 race, mind you) but prior to that he was competing in some relatively weak races and was even beaten by the likes of Bondi Beach (who is the third favourite here) back in late June.
