2016 Grand National Betting Preview PT 2
- By A.J. Ryder on February 22, 2016 19:23 GMTNow that Silviniaco Conti is in the mix his price could drift, particularly as punters get carried away with reports of racecourse gallops and stable rumours of each-way contenders being in cracking form begin to see attentions drawn in other directions on the ante post list.

Shutthefrontdoor is as low as 18/1 but a few bookmakers have him priced at a 20/1 margin to pull off a big national victory. He has won on his seasonal debut last year in a Class 2 chase and then mustered up a fifth place finish in the national. This year he finished third on his seasonal debut and is now headed to the National again so you have to wonder what’s going to happen with this as his sole target but not a lot of recent form to actually work with in terms of putting the race together in your head.
Another interesting contender to emerge is The Druids Nephew and he fell last year when he was well positioned to make a real impression so man think he could be able to kick on and produce a good result this year but it will involve turning around some pretty indifferent performances in his two efforts so far this season.
He has finished in sixth place both times and never really made much of an impression. However, some bookmakers have seen his ante post listing pounded down as low as a 16/1 price while a few others continue to list him in the 20/1 range.
Look for Silviniaco Conti’s price to go nowhere but downwards now that he will skip Cheltenham so the 14/1 looks a nice each-way shout right now.
