Aintree Betting Preview for Thursday Part 2
- By A.J. Ryder on April 7, 2015 19:42 GMTPrior to that he put together some nice victories and took a listed hurdle at Musselburgh and a Class 2 hurdle at Cheltenham. On both occasions he was sent off as the odds-on favourite and that’s indicative of a quality contender who is set to take the big step forward here and capture his first Grade 1 contest. Expect him to be raced prominently with all indications that he should relish the ground.

The Grade 1 Betfred Bowl Chase is a shorter field than many of the other races that will be happening on the day (particularly some of the massive handicaps lining up later on in the card) but you can still expect it to be a fascinating betting race with Silviniaco Conti likely to go off at a very short price.
He has a couple of rivals here with Menorah likely to be the key challenger for many while Ma Filleule gets a weight break here and looks in the reckoning with a steady stream of second place finished in the last few races. Jonjo O’Neill saddles Holywell for this one while Tom Scudamore is set for the ride on Ballynagour.
This one is difficult to really bother going into a huge amount of detail over at Silviniaco Conti should just boss this race if he is able to jump fluently and it all really comes down to how well he jumps and whether he can stay out of trouble throughout the key points of the race. He looks a solid measure above the competition on offer here.
The 3:25 is the Doom Bar Aintree Hurdle and we’ve got a nice match-up brewing here that is headlined by the likes of Jezki and Rock On Ruby. Expect Noel Fehily to be confident about his chances here on Ruby as the talented 10-year-old jumper skipped Cheltenham and comes into the race fresh, seeking his third score on the bounce. He enters off a victory in a Class 2 at Cheltenham and should be able to tangle with the competition here.
Jezki obviously doesn’t need much of an introduction but he comes in off a disappointing fourth place at Cheltenham when faced off against the venerable Faugheen in the Champion Hurdle. Much had been expected of him but he was unable to really get up there in the best of the rest battle.
