Needless to say, a good portion of the wagering attention will be paid towards Long Run, who really didn’t enjoy the best of seasons last year but has obviously proven his quality on several occasions. Right now, punters will find Long Run priced at a very slim 6/5 listing and you can expect it to drop even further if he makes a nice pre-race appearance.
It’s obvious that Long Run is going to be going in the favourite here - especially now that the Giant Bolster has been withdrawn, joining First Lieutenant on the list of horses scratching from the race.
Those looking for a longer-odds selection will likely be perusing the each-way horses here with a few solid prices on offer. Cape Tribulation has every chance and looks like real quality here as he looks to tuck into his seasonal debut in a big way.
You’ll probably remember him for getting the better of Imperial Commander at Cheltenham in January of last year and it should also be noted that he ran a great race kicking off his season last year at York, coming second in a 2m2f race that was on the flat. He only missed by a head and really knows how to get things done, even if he has had a few indifferent results when stepping up to the highest level.
Punters will find Cape Tribulation at a 7/1 price and could go higher on the day.
