The early choice appears to be Al Waab, who is owned by Mubarak Al Naemi and trained by Sir Henry Cecil. He was last seen at Newmarket finishing third to Steeler in the Group 2 Juddmonte Royal Lodge Stakes. He hasn’t really won much but has looked credible in previous performances so he will be looking to improve over the surface here at Sandown. Well-bred, by Danehill Dancer out of an In The Wings mare - this is her most expensive foal to date.

He does look to be getting the early money and trades at a competitive 3/1 listing.
Aidan O’Brien saddles Eye Of The Storm in this one and Ryan Moore gets the call. Punters have backed it into 4/1 but this contender needs to improve off the Galway maiden win and the third place finish in a Group 3 at Newmarket last October. This Galileo has enjoyed a good, long off-season and has clearly been pointed at this race. The fact that this is the only Coolmore horse entered in the race tells you something.
Sugar Boy already has a victory under his belt this year and he’s trading at a slim price of 3/1 with a credible second in a Group 3 at Leopardstown. He is being turned out just two weeks after his last contest so he definitely must be in good nick. He lacks the Group level earnings besides three victories from seven races and six in the money performances. If he can handle the step up then he is definitely a dangerous sort going forward and he looks like he will take a step forward here.
Galileo Rock is a 7/1 shot right now and only boasts a maiden score at Leopardstown last August. He did triumph by seven lengths against a field of twelve so he definitely has some talent. However, his fifth place in the Group 3 Autumn Stakes at Newmarket left a bit to be desired.
Expect him to run closer to the pace in this one - but do expect him to have come on significantly from last season. He could be an interesting each-way opportunity.
