While it may seem like a long way out until mid-September, the ante post action is already starting to heat up for the 2012 St Leger at Doncaster with a British Triple Crown victory looking odds-on at the moment. Aidan O'Brien's incredible season is getting plenty of backing to continue to flourish well into the fall and the lack of challengers is now starting to become genuinely apparent.

Virtually all bookmakers have been trimming Camelot on a semi-regular basis as the money continue to poor in on the son of Montjeu. Undefeated in five efforts – all but the first at Group 1 level – his connections are opting for the Doncaster showpiece before making any other decisions regarding the Arc De Triomphe or a possible appearance at the Breeders' Cup at Santa Anita.
The only real contenders expected to offer up some form of a challenge at this point are Great Heavens and Main Sequence.
Great Heavens is a bay filly by Galileo out of Magnificent Style. She didn't do much on her debut last September when finishing fifth against maiden company, but the John Gosden-trained runner was able to find another gear in her seasonal debut at Yarmouth when she bested a field of five by a three-length margin after being sent off as a co-favourite. She then went on to score at listed level in a Newbury race before taking the Group 2 Lancashire Oaks.
She followed that up with a smashing three-length score over the respected Shirocco Star in the Darley Irish Oaks. Both Camelot and Great Heavens come off a victory at the Curragh and it will be her first time facing off against males.
Bookmakers are entertaining prices of 6/1 on Great Heavens.
Main Sequence finished second to Camelot in the 2012 Derby and was lined up at Longchamp twelve days later. The three-year-old chestnut finished a disappointing fourth in a tight finish in the Juddmonte Grand Prix De paris.
Imperial Monarch got the victory on the day but, with more space between the races this time, he may be able to conjure up some of the outstanding performances we had seen in prior efforts.
