The race will be run on November 1st - November 2nd in the UK due to its west coast running - but the wagering is going to be coming in fast and heavy as we get closer to the big race.

The contest is really shaping up to be a genuine shoot-out between two Claifornia-based Three Year Olds who have had decidedly different campaigns. Shared Belief remains undefeated and recently conquered a quality group of older contenders in the Pacific Classic at Del Mar.
The fact that he is owned by popular radio and TV sports personality Jim Rome makes it difficult to get good odds on this horse but the wager definitely paid off as he overcame a very tricky start to the race (banging his side on the stall as he was guided out by Mike Smith) and then ran a distinctly different race than he usually does - only to rocket home in a sensation score against the reigning Pacific Classic champion Game On Dude.
Toast Of New York put in an impressive performance to finish second on the day after shipping from the other side of the world. The synthetic track specialist will have to have enjoyed his performance at Del Mar - if not because the track is switching to a dirt surface next year, eschewing the polytrack that he made the main course so tricky to bet.
The other big three-year-old was California Chrome who came less than two lengths from being the first Triple Crown winner since Affirmed in 1977. He wasn’t able to overcome his gate problems on Belmont Stakes day as Matterhorn stepped on his right back foot coming out of the gate, which rendered Chrome unusually one-paced at the crucial stage in the race.
