Breeders’ Cup Filly & Mare Turf Betting Preview PT 2
- By A.J. Ryder on October 31, 2014 04:49 GMTJust The Judge justified her trip over from England by capturing the EP Taylor Stakes at Woodbine, following her third place finish in the Beverley D at Arlington Park during Arlington Million day. Euro Charline and Stephanie’s Kitten both finished ahead of her that day but she justified her favourites position in the Taylor and relished the going at Woodbine that day.

Punters will find her at a 7.0 price tag.
The pick for the race looks to be Chad Brown’s Dayatthespa, who has rattled off a steady string of quality results over the past several months and, just from looking at her speed figurs, you can see that she’s taken a step up and has posted triple digit numbers in both of her last races. She will definitely be up front and on the lead so expect her to be sent hard from the gate.
This will be her Santa Anita debut but the 9.0 price on her right now looks like a real bargain and makes her a bit of an each-way shout as well. There is some early speed here, but if Javier Castellano can portion out her speed properly then you can bank on her not looking back as they head for home.
There are a few other interesting contenders in here and Secret Gestue is a very interesting selection for those looking to back one of the Qatari’s horses. She’s been a there-or-thereabouts type for Jamie Spencer and the 6/1 price on the American morning line shows that there is definitely some value to her 9.0 price tag.
Fiesolana is trading at an 11.0 price while Emollient can be backed at a 13.0 price tag that will appeal to some. The real longer-odds selection to keep your eyes on is Shug McGaughey’s Abaco who has put together a very good volume of work this year but looks to have been ignored a bit by the punters.
Priced at 17.0 right now, this horse has every chance and looks likely to kick on and make an impression here.
