Cambridgeshire Ante Post Part 2

He ran his best race ever last time out and you always have to watch out for a bounce after pulling off a big victory like that. The question is whether he is ready to take the big step up to this circuit and face off against seasoned handicappers - a big ask for a three-year-old.

Ascription is one of the next best-priced selections and he’s also one who came into form later on this season and has rattled off a series of solid victories in the Class 2 and 3 divisions. The most notable was a five length score in a Class 2 at Doncaster when sent off at a 2/1 price tag.

Expect Ascription to deploy a tracking trip here and you also reckon he’s going to appreciate some firmer going. Punters will find Ascription trading at a 12/1 price tag alongside Queensberry Rules.

The three-year-old by Teofilo didn’t actually run at the age of two and he got some real attention early on in the season when capturing his first two races and then acquitting himself well in a high-priced handicap at Ascot. He has run his best races when Ryan Moore has been up and you do have to respect that the punters are willing to back him to that price when he was one of the biggest disappointments of the day at Ascot when he ran 22/29 when sent off as the 11/2 favourite in the Betfair International.

You get the feeling that Queensberry Rules runs his best when he gets a track rated as Good, so you can expect his connections (and a few ante post punters alike) to be keeping their eyes firmly-fixed on the weather forecast.

Four-year-old gelding Graphic will be looking for his third score on the bounce and his solid run of recent form includes a quality Class 2 win last time out at kempton where he got the better of some genuinely respected runners. He’s got some great opportunities to move forward with this race and he also got the better of Ascription two races back at Haydock with Joseph O’Brien up.
