- By A.J. Ryder on November 7, 2014 17:17 GMTHugh Bowman will get the ride on Terravista and he was bested by Lankan Rupee last out at Moonee Valley. The odds take a pretty big jump when you get up to his level and he’s trading at a 12/1 price which might make him a bit of an each-way squeak for some. He’s only got a Group 2 and a few Group 3’s to his credit so will obviously need to find more to get the victory here.

Buffering got the better of Lankan Rupee during his second seasonal prep but was beaten by him the last time out after he came good after two unimpressive efforts. He’s trading at around 14/1 and could be an interesting sort here as he knows a lot about the other contestants in the race having competed at Group 1 level consistently over the last two years of racing in Australia. His 2014 season is not quite as impressive as his 2013 season as he only has the solitary victory this year in the aforementioned Group 1 Moir Stakes.
Rebel Dane is trading at the same price and he’s not won for quite some time and looks to be a bit out of step here if punters think he’s actually going to be able to get the victory. He’s likely not much more than a place betting option as he just doesn’t seem to be a horse that can find the line consistently.
To his credit, he has very much been there or thereabouts throughout the last few races - having lost to Buffering by a head in the Moir Stakes and then finishing a quarter of a length and half a length back in his other efforts.
He got awfully close to Lankan Rupee last time - just a quarter of a length behind him - but still could only muster up a fourth place finish as a number of them all hit the line near the same time.
Those looking for a longer odds selection would do pretty well to take on Godolphin’s Sidestep as he’s put together a pretty decent run before heading back to the farm in April. He got the better of Bounding in the Group 2 Royal Sovereign Stakes at Randwicke and looks like he could be able to make an impression here if he gets it exactly right. He’s trading at a 20/1 price that could entice some - particularly on the each-way.
