Dubai Challenge and Middle Park Stakes Betting Preview Part 2
- By A.J. Ryder on October 8, 2013 18:35 GMTA pair of three-year-old Henrythenavigators are also entered here and Cristofo Columbo and Afonso De Sousa have both been racing on the all-weather lately. They head back to the grass in a tricky Group 2 challenge but you reckon that Aidan O’Brien will have them both razor sharp for this significant step up in quality.

The next race is the Middle Park Stakes - a hotly-contested two-year-old race going 6f. There are a number of very exciting lightly-raced contenders who have been pointed at this race for quite some time. Only one entry comes into this race undefeated and it’s the well-bred Coolmore entry Great White Eagle - winner of the Group 3 Go And Go Round Tower Stakes at the Curragh not too long ago. He had only broken his maiden a month prior at Naas and has emerged with comfortable victories each time.
There are a few others to keep your eye on here but the majority of them are also Aidan O’Brien trainees. Craftsman is a colt by Mastercraftsman who has just broken his maiden at Listowel against a tricky field of 13. Sent off at a slim 2/5 price tag, which says a lot in such a large field, he got the job done with Joseph O’Brien up. He stayed on extremely well towards the finish and clearly wants more ground.
Out of a Forest Wildcat mare, you can expect him to outrun his odds here. Though he may be rated lower than many others, he has a lot going for him and clearly demonstrates plenty of upside.
Multiple Grade 2 winning War Command is also in the mix here and, should he capture this race, he will be adding to what has already been a stellar year for the upstart American stallion. War Front’s have been winning races across the globe, and winning them with plenty of panache as well. He has won 3 from 4 lifetime (and his loss was in the Group 1 Phoenix Stakes) and boasts an extremely strong finishing kick that will serve him well on the firmer going at Newmarket on Saturday.
