Amber Sky also ships over from Sha Tin but he’s finished well behind Peniaphobia in his last couple of races though he does have the feather in his cap of having won this very race last year. It was his only ever career effort at Meydan and this could wind up being a straight up horses for courses type of scenario and that’s likely why the punters are willing to ignore his form.

Caspar Netscher might appeal to some, particularly since he already has an effort at Meydan under his belt - a sneaky good third place from sixteen when he only lost out by a quarter length to Sir Maximilian. He was sent off at 18/1 last time and, though he takes a step up in class here, he has the experience over the surface and the local prep under his belt. His 25/1 listing right now makes him a very solid each-way shout and he may be a good bet to come in underneath on your exotic wagers.

The Dubai Golden Shaheen features a very interesting line-up of American contenders with former Breeders’ Cup Sprint champion Secret Circle headlining the betting markets right now with a solid 5/2 price tag putting him just a step ahead of his former Santa Anita co-resident Rich Tapestry who comes in at a 4/1 listing.

Big Macher could be a very interesting outside contender in this race as he has moved forward considerably over the last couple of years though most of his best work has been done over the synthetic surface at Del Mar. He has beaten Grade 1 winners and even a Breeders’ Cup champion in the past and many are keen on his ability. He wasn’t going to come over here if he didn’t have a genuine chance to win and he looks decent at his 12/1.

Keep your eyes peeled on the other outside contender Cool Cowboy who looms large as a 20/1 shout.
