Dynaste Set for Big Buck's Clash in Long Walk Hurdle

After earning plaudits all around as the eight length victory in the Grade 3 Fixed Brush handicap, the five-year-old star will be taking arguably the biggest jump in class you can get in the hurdles circuit – facing off against the talented Big Buck's.

Having gotten the better of 20 rivals on the day by such a hefty margin has prompted David Pipe to enter him in the Grade 1 Lough Derg Long Walk Hurdle on Saturday. Pipe is really just using the same plan from last year when Grands Crus won the Long Walk and then went on to spend the rest of the year tangling with Big Buck's, although he was unable to get the better of the star hurdler from the Nicholls' yard.

As it currently stands, the five-year-old contender is priced out at 12/1 for the a victory in the Ladbrokes World Hurdle at Cheltenham. First things first though and he is trading as the 6/1 second choice against Big Buck's and him slim 2/7 price tag.

The going at Ascot should make things relatively even between the two with neither getting a distinct edge from the ground conditions.

Big Buck's has won everything since unseating Sam Thomas in the Hennessy Gold Cup back when he was on the chasing circuit. It proved to be his last effort over fences and he was moved back to hurdles about a month and a half later. Unbeaten since then in thirteen different efforts – nearly all of them coming at the top level, he will be looking to get this one off to a big start.

Others in the mix for this one include female Sparky May, Restless Harry and Celestial Halo – all looking to stake their claim over the 3m distance and score a massive scalp. Oscar Whisky, Lie Forrit and Get Me Out Of Here were all withdrawn at the five-day declaration stage.
