Epsom Derby Day Scoop6 Betting Tips Part 3
- By A.J. Ryder on May 31, 2013 17:15 GMTHe was raced in touch for much of the contest and then made very strong headway about 2f from the line and pulled it off by an impressive three-lengths. He’ll enjoy having a solid pace to aim at and doesn’t want to deal with much traffic trouble.

Sheikh Hamdan has Matrooh in this one and he’s also coming in off a similar maiden score at Doncaster against a 17-strong field. Sent off as the 2/1 choice, he won the race by a solid length and looked fairly good doing it. Proven at a mile and without really having done much wrong in his first race (a fourth from twelve, losing by a length), he has plenty of claims to move forward.
The Investec Dash is the third contest of the sequence and we’ve got a very tough 5f to be battled over here. There is a couple of interesting runners here and this Heritage Handicap event delivers a hefty purse so it’s understandable why we’ve got so many solid runners in the mix.
There are some good specialist sprinters located in the middle of the handicap and you can bank on the links of Smoothtalkinrascal, another talented young contender by Kodiak, looking to repeat his last effort when he scored at York, just doing enough to collar Lucky Beggar to win by a nose. He’s not finished outside of the board in any race this year and has two wins to his credit - though both were pretty darn close. He appears to be a there-or-thereabouts type who should be able to handle the step up in grade if he gets a decent trip.
He’s forged a good partnership so far with Daniel Tudhorpe here and he returns to take the mount, adding further credibility to his claims.
