Fascinating Champion Hurdle Set to Unfold Pt 4

Though Our Conor hasn’t won either of his three appearances this year doesn’t seem to matter much to the punters in the Champion Hurdle ante post market. He is right up there trading as the fourth favourite and that’ mostly because they know what he’s capable of - he captured the JCB Triumph Hurdle by a whopping 15 lengths last year when getting the better of Far West.

Sent off as the 4/1 favourite on the day, he’s got plenty of fans who may be looking at him as a cheeky outsider - a true festival specialist. He’s been behind Hurricane Fly on his last two attempts and that’s not really a huge blemish, all things considered.

Look for Our Conor at a flat 5/1 with virtually every major bookmaker. When you look at the price, however, you do have to look at Hurricane Fly at 10/3 as a slightly better option than Our Conor at 5s.

The other one to keep your eye on here is the undefeated mare Annie Power, who is trading as the fifth favourite in the Champion Hurdle ante post market. She has never lost in any of her ten rules races, but you also have to be aware that she’s registered in a pair of other Cheltenham entries.

Currently, she’s 7/1 on the board for this contest, but she is much shorter to run in the Ladbrokes World Hurdle - where she’s priced at 3/1 or the OLBG Mares’ Hurdle where she is available at a 7/2 price tag. If she chooses to avoid Quevega and Big Buck’s, this could be her destination.
