Pateese gets a big penalty and will be top of the weights here despite being in the mix during most of his last few contests. Though he is a competitive 13/2 for this one you just don’t see him being able to carry that type of weight over heavy ground when you take those last couple of races in true context.

The second contest is at 2:35 on the all weather at Lingfield it’s not often we have a six horse field to navigate in the second leg of the Scoop6. Picansort looks to be the outright favourite with a 9/4 price tag and we have Gregori competing with Song of Parkes for the position as second choice. You’ll find Gregori priced at 11/4 with Song of Parkes as a straight 4/1 shot. 

In Gregori and Picansort you have one of those classic all weather quandaries where you’re forced to pick between the horse with the higher official rating and a significant weight penalty that looks tough considering his recent form. Then you have a contender with a significantly lower official rating but a quality RPR and a nice break in the weights. 

Gregori gets another go at the 5f distance after weakening last time but getting that break might be just the thing he needs. Song Of Parkes scored at 12/1 last time out and she’s a mare who has been out 43 times and only won about 20,000 quid so far. Take from that what you will. 

Gregori gets the edge in the second, very salty, contest at Lingfield.
