Lord Windermere is unraced since conquering the RSA Chase at Cheltenham last year and deserves plenty of credit and respect from punters based on that performance alone. He has a string of good runs to his credit though - dating all the way back to November of 2012. There is a lot to like about his ability to finish up races and he tends to outrun his odds even when he’s not favoured.
He hasn’t finished outside of the top three since a disappointing run at Fairyhouse back in April of 2012. He’s got a good amount of earnings for a horse who has only run 6 chases and that RSA victory showed that he can hang tough with anybody. He delivered for punters at 8/1 that day and looks like he has plenty of interesting options considering that he tends to prefer a late run at the leaders.
Lord Windermere will require a good trip and plenty of luck if he’s going to pull off the victory in this testing 3m2f110y trip, but he has the credibility to spring a surprise and 8/1 isn’t bad at all on an RSA Chase winner.
Rocky Creek lines up for the Paul Nicholls yard and will be attracting a significant amount of punting attention. He may not be a Cheltenham festival winner but he does boast a few quality runs to his credit - a Grade 2 novice hurdle win and a Grade 2 chasing victory.
