One of the most intriguing factors is The Fugue stepping up to take on male company in this one while we also have the returning Kingsbarns looking to light up the board as well. With several talented winners of big races showing up for this one - Al Kazeem was a late confirmation - you can bank on this one being a really solid betting race for the punters.
Declaration of War is the outright betting choice in the ante post market right now and the bookmakers have him floating around 5/2. With the headlines on all the major news broadcasts and newspapers surrounding an idiotic military intervention in Syria, it must be admitted that there is plenty of coincidence surrounding that timing.
The Aidan O’Brien-trained colt by War Front captured the Queen Anne Stakes at Ascot and then followed that up with a pair of place showings at Sandown and Goodwood. He then was able to triumph in the big-money Juddmonte International Stakes at York where he bested Trading Leather - who returns for another kick at the can here in this race.
While Declaration of War certainly doesn’t win every race, he is always in the mix - particularly when Joseph O’Brien is in the irons. The trainer’s son has been up for all of the Group 1 victories so far this season, along with the listed contest they used to kick off the year’s campaign.
