King George VI Chase Betting Preview Pt 3
- By A.J. Ryder on November 13, 2013 23:47 GMTWith Bobs Worth looking as though he may pursue other options over 3m, then it looks as though Dynaste will hold at the 5/1 ante post market he’s price at right now. There is every chance that he goes off as the selection on the day and punters are advised to get their bets down now as opposed to later as the price will only drop once others are more firmly pointed elsewhere.

Al Ferof is one to keep your eye on as he looks to get things back on track for the Paul Nicholls yard. He captured the Paddy Power Gold Cup Chase last year in his one and only run and was subsequently laid off for the rest of the season. He was running near or at the top of the game at that point and you have to respect the fact that he comes back and is pointed only at this race.
At the moment, you can back Al Ferof at a 10/1 price tag and he looks good value to get the job done on the day if things are to his liking and he hasn’t lost a step. The Nicholls yard has a lot going for it and he is always ready to roll with first-timers at the start of the season.
It has been a long road back for Al Ferof having been off-track for more than a year prior to this run but he will be looking in cracking form on the day so keep your eyes peeled on his price going forward.
There are plenty of other popular National Hunt contenders in the mix for this one going forward and several boast extremely competitive prices such as Silviniaco Conti at 6/1 and Cue Card at a 7/1 listing. Both of them are quality contenders and have a lot in their favour as they move forward.
Not much has been mentioned about Long Run up until this point and he’s priced at 8/1 and really looking up against it having not won his last couple of races. He really put in one of the worst performances of his career in his seasonal debut at Wetherby when he finished a distant 41 lengths off the pace in a mere Grade 2 event - absolutely put in his place by the likes of Harry Topper and Wayward Prince.
If he is to salvage anything from this season he will need to burst back into form with a massive run at Kempton on Boxing Day.
