King George VI & Queen Elizabeth Stakes Betting Tips Pt 2
- By A.J. Ryder on July 16, 2014 14:22 GMTCoral Eclipse winner Mukhadram is emerging as one of the key contenders in Sheikh Hamdan’s operation and he triumphed at a considerable price of 14/1 over Trading Leather and a host of other top Group 1 international stars. He has shown his ability to handle this type of company and always seems to run his best around this time of year. He is very live at a price of around 5/1 or 6/1 depending upon which bookmaker you are wagering with.

Sheikh Hamdan also saddles Taghrooda for this one and she comes into this as her first effort against colts and geldings after triumphing in the Epsom Oaks back in early June. The regally-bred filly looks every bit the contender here and will put her undefeated record on the line at a price of around 8/1.
Juddmonte boasts a pair of entries here with Flintshire getting the better prices early on despite lacking the quality race record of his more famous stable mate Noble Mission. Frankel’s brother has been rattling off good races as of late and will be looking to add to his tally of Group level scores. Flintshire may not have the great recent form, but he does have plenty of high level experience and the credibility of a second-place finish to Cirrus Des Aigles back in June in the Coronation Cup.
That last big race was his seasonal debut and he was then a disappointing fifth to Spiritjim at Saint Cloud in the Group 1 Grand Prix De Saint Cloud. It will be interesting to see where his odds actually wind up as he gets closer to the off.
Godolphin’s Trading Leather is also in the mix here and this one hasn’t finished outside of the top 3 since October of 2012 when he ran in the Racing Post Trophy, losing to Kingsbarns and finishing fifth. Since then he has run in some great races and has every chance here - especially when you look at the fact that he finished second to Novellist last year when sent off at 9/2 and then putting in good shifts behind a number of respectable runners.
This will be Trading Leather’s third start since his freshening and he has every chance to romp home here.
