For the individual dressage event, it looks like a straight shoot-out between Adeline Cornelissen and Carlotte Dujardin. Both contenders trade as the 9/4 co-favourites with Carl Hester the 6/1 spoiler. Steffen Peters is an interesting outside bet at a solid 14/1 price – he may be worth a look on the each-way.
Michael Jung is the betting favourite for the individual eventing and he's a decently-priced 7/4 – still representing a fair amount of value. Andrew Nicholson and William Fox-Pitt are the 6/1 second choices with Sandra Auffrath at a 7/1 listing.
One of Britain's shouts for a potential gold medal is right here in the individual jumping with Nick Skelton trading as the co-favourite for this event. He's a well-priced 5/1 and that's a clear indication that this is one of the more wide-open equestrian competitions. Look for Richard Fellers at 5/1 with some stiuff competition expected from Rolf-Goran Bengtsson.
Getting into the team dressage event – we've got Great Britain trading as the outright favourites with a competitive price of around 5/4 out there. Expect some late money to come in on this one – it's best to back them now and lock in those odds. Holland are a solid 11/4 and look likely to mount a serious challenge.
The Germans are always competitive in dressage and they're at 3/1 – the only other real logical winner. Denmark are the next best-priced contender and they're listed at 14/1. Canada are a lengthy 50/1.
The Germans are considered the favourites in the team eventing competition and they will lock horses (or hooves) with Great Britain. Germany trade at 2/1 while Great Britain sits at 11/4. Australia are in the frame for this one at 5/1 with New Zealand also in touch at 6/1. Look for the United States – known to be competitive in eventing at this level – at a very solid 10/1. France trade at 16/1 with Canada at 20/1.
Germany are priced at 13/8 to win the team jumping with the United States at 4/1 and France at 6/1 Switzerland are in the frame here too and they're trading at 8/1.
