Long Run Headlines The King George Part 3

It’s worth noting that he also finished second to Sizing Europe last December and, up until Thursday, Sizing was pointed towards this race. He has the claims and the credibility and it’s just a matter of how much he’s moved forward between 5 and 6 - along with just how well he can handle the added distance.

Kauto Stone is a horse who is comfortable at the highest level, though he has run inconsistently in the past. Which Kauto Stone shows up will likely be the major factor in this race.

The Giant Bolster, a chaser who made a major statement in the Cheltenham Gold Cup last year, will be looking to push forward in this one and add to his claims as a genuine top-class horse. He put in a mediocre shift to Silviniaco Conti at Haydock on his seasonal debut but hasn’t really started his seasons with too much verve in the past anyway. He will like the going and his price is competitive for a reason. Look for him to at least make a good run at hitting the board.

Captain Chris looks to be another key contender and he’s also got a victory under his belt in a Grade 2 effort at Ascot at the start of his season. Another son of King’s Theatre, he will likely get bet down a bit from the 16/1 he’s trading at right now. Look for him to be another major contender for a place finish - you should note that he finished third in this race last year.

Junior has been supplemented into the contest for a high price and his connections wouldn’t have done that unless they thought he had a genuine shot at shocking the world. The confirmation only came a few days ago and it likely has much to do with the conditions underfoot. Look for him to make a big statement here or fail spectacularly.
