The races kick off at 2 pm on Saturday with the Bet365 Mile - a Class contest that sees 12 different contenders tackle this one and the betting markets are bit wide open at this early stage with slight preference being given to Oracolo, who lines up with Jamie Spencer and trades at around 5/1 right now. It will be interesting to see how his odds jump around a bit prior to the race and if he makes an excellent pre-race appearance then you could see him going off much closer to 7/2.
This one is run as a handicap so it’s worth paying a bit of attention to those towards the middle of it but Oracolo gets a three-pound break from the top weight and will be looking to build on the steady series of victories he has rattled off at Doncaster in the month of June.
While this one is certainly a step up in grade from those last two, he was able to stay on strongly towards the finish in both of them - capturing the pair of races by two lengths and two and a half lengths. Should he get a similar set-up and pace scenario here then there is no real reason to doubt his abilities.
Lady Cecil saddles Western Reserve, a well-bred Juddmonte contender who was last seen finishing second to Awesome Power at Sandown last time out. The three-year-old gelding only has a solitary victory under his belt - a Class 5 maiden at Chelmsford back in mid-May but there seems to be plenty of punters will still believe that this one has the ability to move forward and that he’ll demonstrate it here in this Class 2 handicap.
