As the European flat racing season starts to enter its business end, you can expect things to get very interesting in the build-up to the race.

It has been a really interesting season for many and it seems as though there are a few who are kicking into high gear at just the right time. Several of the more interesting fancies still have to be supplemented if they are actually going to run in the Arc De Triomphe but you can bank on connections being there to shoulder the financial burden as the lucrative prize on offer is just too good to turn down.
After pulling off a stunning victory last week in the Qatar Prix Foy at Longchamp, Orfevre has been installed as the outright ante post favourite to win the Arc following that three length triumph. He pulled off the exact same thing last year but could only muster second place finish to Solemia in the big feature a few weeks later. Losing the Arc by a quarter of a length will definitely sting and you reckon that he’s coming back even more fit for this contest.
His score in the Prix Foy this year was by 3 lengths compared to a single length last year and he also beat nine runners instead of a field of five.
Punters will find Orfevre trading at 11/4 right now.
Prior to Orfevre taking over the favourite’s position in the ante post market we were looking at Al Kazeem as the betting choice but he was given a very tough result when beaten by The Fugue in the Irish Champion Stakes despite being sent off as the slim 9/10 favourite.
