Queen Elizabeth II Challenge Cup Stakes Preview Part 2

The pride of the Ramsey Breeding operation's distaff side this year, Stephanie's Kitten will definitely take some money for this race as she enters off a solid score at Saratoga in the Grade 2 Lake Placid Stakes. John Velasquez will remain with her as she looks pointed towards her second Breeders' Cup in a row. She was Ken Ramsey's birthday present when she captured the 2011 Juvenile Fillies Turf at Churchill Downs on the opening day of the Breeders' Cup Championships.

Her prominent running style should give her the ability to hold up with Dayatthespa, who will go to the front right away should she break cleanly.

The lack of outright early speed may force Stephanie's Kitten to challenge for the lead and it will be interesting to see how she copes with the turf conditions, which are expected to be firm.

Lightly-raced Centre Court lines up for this one and was just beaten by Stephanie's Kitten last time out. Look for her around an 8/1 price tag - sure to attract attention as a wise guy play, she retains the services of talented turf jock Julien Leparoux.

Treasured Up is also in this one and the well-bred filly hasn't really found the finish line first for quite some time and looks set to get a significant weight advantage because of it. She carries 113 compared to 128 lb Tannery.

Elvis Trujillo gets the mount on the aforementioned daughter of Dylan Thomas and she'll be getting Lasix for the second time as she makes her second stateside start after finishing third behind Samitar at Belmont a month ago. Sean Bridgmohan is also scheduled to ride Better Lucky and comes out of the 1 stall.

Punters should be aware of the lack of early speed in this one - Dayatthespa looks likely to steal this one on the front end.
