Scoop6 Action for March 1 Pt 1
- By A.J. Ryder on February 28, 2014 21:51 GMTThere is a really solid Scoop6 card kicking off tomorrow around 3pm at Doncaster with plenty of interesting races to be deciphered and a conspicuous lack of massive fields that are impossible to navigate. Look for this one to have a very solid jackpot well into the million range and plenty of punters coming out of the woodwork to tackle this dual jumps/all weather card.

The first contest of the day is the 2:55 at Doncaster with no real discernible favourite to be taken from this one. Simply Ned has the position as outright choice right now with a 4/1 listing but Turn Over Sivola seems to be building up steam and getting the nod from Diomed. Currently trading at a 9/2 price, he’s been knocking on the door for quite some time and will do well to get up in time to grab this lucrative prize.
There is a nice weight break there for Turn Over Sivola and you can expect him to attract a lot of volume in the place markets as well. Swift Arrow and Lidar loom as outside possibilities - the latter of which is getting Barry Geraghty.
The second race up is the 3:25 at Lingfield and this is a salty Class 5 bunch if there ever was one. Not a huge amount of recent form to write home about for many of them with the exception of Rowan Ridge, who was second last time out while My Lord and Cabuchon both won two back.
The one to watch out for may be Thecornishcowboy, who hasn’t been the most high-calibre runner as of late but comes in second off a lengthy freshening and you get the feeling he wasn’t really pushed hard last time out. He’s worth a wager while Akdam is also worth throwing on the ticket at a solid weighting and making his seasonal bow.
The 3:30 at Doncaster is a much higher quality contest that boasts a solid line-up of contenders going 3m2f. Monbeg Dude is getting the nod from the bookmakers early on here with a 4/1 listing on the back of his mid-December Grade 3 score at Cheltenham. He’s been freshened for quite some time and is looking for a good outing prior to his run at the festival. While he is definitely pointed in some exciting places you get the feeling that he may not be pushed 100% in this contest with festival dreams still very much in the cards for this one.
