Scoop6 Betting Preview January 31 PT 1

We’ve got some very interesting races set to unfold at Sandown and Ffos Las tomorrow with what many expect to be a £200,000 Scoop6 pot up for grabs. With some relatively small fields and no gigantic handicap puzzles to solve, this one could be won by more than a few punters so anybody doing their homework on the six races stands a pretty good chance of pulling something off.

Getting closer to the jump off, we’re going to be starting at 1:50 at Sandown in a 2m handicap chase featuring the likes of French Opera coming in as the high weight. Nicky Henderson’s charge can only muster up fourth favourite in the advance wagering though and the bookmakers have the twelve year old priced at a 5/1 margin right now.

Philip Hobbs Balleygarvey appears to be the one to beat right now with a listing hovering around a 3/1 margin. He got things off to a winning start in only his second effort of the season - capturing a similar Class 3 handicap at Ascot back in mid-December. On the day, he beat out Ulck Du Lin, who also lines up in this one. He should kick on nicely here and you have to like the spacing between his races.

The largest field of the day is the second race and we’ve got a full line-up of fourteen contenders here set to do battle over a 2m4f distance in the Betway Welsh Champion Hurdle. The Rebecca Curtis-trained selection Foryourinformation is trading as the betting choice right now with a slim 7/2 price that shows plenty of confidence in the horse when you consider the size of the field here.

Currently ranking right in the middle of the handicap at 10-5, the six-year-old son of Kayf Tara was able to just hold on in a Class 5 Maiden Hurdle over the course just a few weeks ago. Prior to that he was second in a field of ten but still finished twenty two lengths back of Value At Risk. That one came in a slightly better race and will be a popular option here for those who prefer to back a horse who has won recently.
