Scoop6 Betting Tips For February 9 Part 2

Of the others, Ma Filleule turns out for Nicky Henderson’s yard and has been knocking on the door lately - a beaten favourite last time out as well. The grey gets McCoy in the irons first-time and will be looking to improve though taking a step up in class for this one. She came awfully close back at Newbury back on December 1st and just couldn’t quicken over the final furlong. That might trouble some as she has to handle an extra two furlongs today but she tends to run better on ground that is closer to soft.

Silvery Gypsy has been improving lately if you look at the short-term form but a look at the longer record indicates that the eight-year-old hasn’t won since 2010. Swincombe Flame is an interesting outside selection here even though there isn’t much form to note. There is a discernable pattern of her running a monster race every year in her fourth start. This is to be her fourth start of the year. That might be enough for some in a relatively open race.

Many punters will attempt to use the small field here as a way to single a horse here to kick off their tickets. Kauto Shiny is the unknown quantity while Ma Filleule represents the most likely chance to get the score.

The second race takes place at 1:50 at Newbury and we’ve got a solid field of 18 hurdlers set to contest this one. It’s a lengthy handicap and there are some quality contenders here - including some who come into the races in all sorts of good form. Virtually every good yard is represented here and there is some good money up for grabs considering it’s for contenders rated under 145.

At the top of the weights is Paul Nicholls Five Dream - who comes in at 11-12. He looks to be a throw-out as he’s literally not hit the line first since scoring in a 7K at Aintree in October of 2009. He was last seen dead-last finishing 27 lengths behind Big Buck’s at Newbury in the Grade 2 Long Distance Hurdle.
