Scoop6 Betting Tips For February 9 Part 3

Barafundle looks appealing at the top of the weights and has scored over course and distance. The 140-rated son of Flemensfirth only missed by half a length last time at Doncaster and was making his second start off the lay-off. He was sent off as the 3/1 favourite on the day and was beaten by a 22/1 shot carrying 9-10. It’s more or less the same distance as this contest and he takes a step down in quality here.
Spirit River has appeal but doesn’t really tend to finish races. Sivola De Sivola always takes more money than he should based on his name, while Master Of The Sea is entered for this one as well and takes a big step up off three lower-level scores in a row in handicap hurdles action at Hereford, Aintree and Wincanton.

In the third race we have the 32red Casino Handicap Chase and we’ve got 2011 Grand National winner Ballabriggs stepping up to take on a smaller field of contenders going 2m4f at Warwick. Calgary Bay actually comes in as top weight and they will all have their eyes on a seven-year-old jumper by Dynaformer who comes out of Venetia Williams yard. Drumshambo has taken three progressively better races on the bounce and looks good stepping up against very high quality competition.
Sometimes a horse just knows how to find the line first and you reckon that there will be a few taking the odds on Drumshambo and anybody getting a score here on a Scoop6 ticket would likely find themselves with few competitors still hanging around after this one as many will opt for the higher-profile selections.
Hey Big Spender holds limited appeal and has been very off this year so far. Doeslessthanme is an interesting sort of runner coming out of Paul Nicholls yard but hasn’t really flourished when stepped up against higher quality runners. He defnitely ahs potential but doesn’t quite look to be the finished product and this one may be more of a gauge for whether he goes to Cheltenham or Aintree as opposed to whether he actually has a chance of winning this one.
Calgary Bay comes in as the top weight and will get lots of action despite being in the wins yet this year. He looks well-placed for this one and should get the trip, but the switch to Conor O’Farrell will have some questioning whether the pair will combine for a win in their first effort together.
