Scoop6 Preview for January 10, 2015 PT 1

We’ve got a very winnable Scoop6 jackpot coming together this Saturday with races from Kempton, Wetherby and Warwick all set to unfold in one of the most tricky tests for punters on the entire planet. While this week’s iteration of the Scoop6 is nothing like some of the sequences we have seen recently - with up to 25 or 30 runners in the mix in a given race - it’s still going to require some careful analysis and handicapping to be able to figure out how things will shape up.

The opening race comes to us from Wetherby and kicks off at 1:45 local. We have a handicap hurdle going just over two miles and with eleven contenders in the mix here. Top weight Wordy’s Boy already has a run under his belt this year and came second in a field of five to Lochnagar at Uttoexeter back in early December.

He competed primarily in Class 5 handicaps last year after having been off for nearly two years after injuring himself following a run at Southwell back in February of 2012. Looking to get things back on track here, the handicapper has perhaps been a bit unkind to him with his current top weight but he has a chance to pull this one off under the right conditions.

The other one to watch here is Kayf Blanco, who is lightly-raced and gets AP McCoy for the mount here. He is still winless but going first time AP is always helpful - particularly on the back of a pair of third place finishes in recent months.

The second race is a 2:15 from Wetherby and we are going two miles in a handicap chase here. Fifth Of The Clyde is an interesting option here and he’s both a course and distance winner and a beaten favourite coming in here. The Malcolm Jefferson charge will get Brian Hughes here and could be poised to make the breakthrough.

Another one to keep your eye on is Sa Suffit - who only has the solitary outing so far this year and looks good value to progress and kick on nicely here. This is a winnable race and is certainly in his comfort zone.
