Scoop6 Preview for January 10, 2015 PT 2

The third race is the 2:25 from Warwick with a 3m2f contest that serves as a prep for the Pertemps Final. A number of talented contenders are in the mix here and we have some seriously solid records on the line. Closing Ceremony enters the race looking for his third score on the bounce while Phoenix Returns hasn’t finished outside off the board in his last five races. In that sequence is a pair of victories - one of which coming in a race very similar to this one at Carlisle - and you can bank on that being a testament to his ability to get the job done in this contest.

Alan King’s Handazan also has claims here but needs to run vert similarly to his last outing in order to have a genuine chance with this one.

The fourth race is a listed handicap from Kempton with a hefty prize pool up for grabs here as they go 2m5f over hurdles. Dell’Arca is one of the more recognizable names in the mix here but he has had a bit of an indifferent season with only a second place finish to write home about in his three outings this season.

Warrantor is one to watch here, looking for his their strike in a row while the talented Tea For Two looms as a well-weighted option here - entering the race with good form having taken two races in his three attempts this season. While none of them were at this level he should be able to progress and move forward enough to factor.

Fifth race is a handicap chase from Kempton where we have the Queen’s horse Open Hearted ready to make a move here after finishing third last time. While the race isn’t a super high-end iteration of anything, it’s a tricky enough puzzle to solve with only nine in the mix here. Chartreux gets a one-pound penalty against Open Hearted and will have much to accomplish if he wants to channel his last outing where he won at Punchestown.

The final race of the Scoop6 sequence comes to us from Warwick where we have the feature race of the day set to unfold. Some very familiar names are in this one such as Carruthers, West End Rocker and Theatrical Star. West End Rocker is definitely one to watch here on the heels of his seasonal debut at Lingfield about a month ago in s Class 2 handicap chase. He’s been putting in good shifts lately and is a great shout for the win here if you can get a solid e/w price on him.
