So You Think Withdrawal Shakes Up Coral-Eclipse

The final declarations have taken place for tomorrow's 2012 Coral Eclipse at Sandown. Headlines were made around the racing world yesterday when New Zealand-bred wonderhorse So You Think was officially retired after being found to be lame in his stall Thursday morning. The horse will now be shuttled to Australia for the upcoming breeding season.

Coolmore were obviously hoping for more from So You Think as the year continued to unfold but he will obviously make a very interesting addition to their breeding shed.

Godolphin's Farhh is now the significant favourite for the 2012 Coral Eclipse and many will wonder whether this race comes just that bit too early as he ran a solid third to So You Think in the Prince of Wales' Stakes just two and a half weeks ago.

The lightly-raced son of Pivotal is now being bet down in the region of 9/4 with many punters thinking that he's going to boss this prestigious race. It's worth remembering that he has never actually even won at graded or listed level. In his four lifetime efforts, the Group 1 was his first loss but it was such a significant step up that he may have had more taken out of him than many would initially assume.

Last year's King George VI and Queen Elizabeth Stakes winner Nathaniel is back for what is his seasonal debut and he's taking plenty of action with a 5/2 price that looks to be a better wager than Farhh at 9/4.

He has already won a Group 1 and beaten older colts and geldings. In fact, he's never really done much wrong aside from his fifth place finish at Ascot last year on Champions Day.

Cityscape has returned from Sha Tin and will be making his third start on his third continent this year. The six-year-old Juddmonte-bred has a lot going for him but will be looking to get things back on track after a disappointing tenth in the BMW Champions Mile. Look for him around 6/1.

Cityscape lines up for Highclere and the three-year-old will step up to tackle older contenders in this one. He is taking money at 7/1 but will be looking to hit the board for the Andrew Balding yard and to keep moving forward.

Monterosso, the Dubai World Cup winner, is back for this one at a hefty 12/1 price tag while former Coral Eclipse winner Twice Over is set to run at a 16/1 listing.
