Stan James Offer Code for 2012 Irish Derby Part Two

Akeed Mofeed can be backed at around 16/1 and only missed out on his stakes debut by half a length. He will be lining up for his seasonal debut and John Oxx wouldn't have pointed him towards this one if he didn't think it he would at least have a chance and so the question mark over top of him is – just how much has he improved? He's been off-track since last September and will have put on a lot of mass and matured mentally as well.

Another reason to keep your eye on Akeed Mofeed is the incredible season that his father, Dubawi, is having in Europe.

Light Heavy, a proven Irish runner and multiple stakes winner is also in the mix for this one and he's won all three of his outings this year at Leopardstown. He is set for his debut at the Curragh and will need to move forward massively in order to tackle Camelot – though he is certainly a contender for the place wager.

Astrology is back already having been raced just last week with a disappointing fourth place finish in the King Edward VII Stakes. He finished third to Camelot in the Derby and will likely be in the frame again though many will wonder whether he's being rushed back too quickly. This will be his third race inside 30 days.

Punters will find Astrology in the area of 12/1 to 20/1.

Born To Sea remains in the picture for the Irish Derby and must push on from his fourth place showing at Royal Ascot. He finished two lengths behind Most Improved in the St James Palace Stakes and only just pissed out on being Group 1 placed. John Oxx trains this one for Christopher Tsui but you wonder whether this is a step too far.

Kentucky Derby candidate Daddy Long Legs will line up for this one, and will be contesting his third Derby race of the year. He was pulled up at Churchill Downs at the far turn but looked absolute quality when capturing the UAE Derby at Meydan. He can be spotted at a 25/1 margin.

Father Of Science is another Galileo colt and this one is out of a Darshaan mare. He's trained by Aidan O'Brien and will be looking to move forward off a maiden win at Chester. Not much to mention here but could improve. He trades at 25/1.

Learn and Call To Battle round out the field with both contenders available at 50/1.
