The Ladbroke Hurdle Betting Tips PT 2

Sign Of A Victory looks to be the one to beat here, but only marginally if the odds are to be genuinely believed. He enters this race off a listed victory at Ascot back at the start of November and has likely been pointed at this race for quite some time.

He’s a very interesting opportunity here with that having been his first real genuine step up in quality as he had been campaigned in Class 3 and 4 contests prior to that - finishing well and winning all but one of his efforts in novice hurdle company.

He was well-backed, going off as the 15/8 favourite, when pointed towards that race at Ascot. The presence of Barry Geraghty throughout the last few races has been very helpful and you get the feeling that, from looking at his race record, that he likely could have been running in better races than he was earlier in 2014.

The five-year-old son of Kayf Tara still has plenty of time and space to improve and taking this Ladbroke would be a significant feather in his cap and likely result in a considerable price tumble as he head towards Cheltenham. You’ll find him trading at anywhere from 5/1 to 6/1 and he’ll likely drop a bit if he gets confirmation of favourable ground.

Activial is the one currently challenging Sign Of A Victory for the role of favourite and, though he can be had around 6/1 with many books, he’s not quite as short as his counterpart right now. Though that could certainly change as the Grade 2 juvenile hurdle winner looks set for his seasonal debut at the young age of four.

He’s being very ambitiously campaigned by Harry Fry and, with only four races under belt so far, it’s a real test for him to come up against some of the company he’ll be taking on here but he showed that he can handle the distance and pace he’ll likely get in this 2m contest so it’s not entirely surprising that he’s trading short - but some might wonder whether it’s credible that he be this short.
