The Ladbroke Hurdle Betting Tips PT 3

He’s being very ambitiously campaigned by Harry Fry and, with only four races under belt so far, it’s a real test for him to come up against some of the company he’ll be taking on here but he showed that he can handle the distance and pace he’ll likely get in this 2m contest so it’s not entirely surprising that he’s trading short - but some might wonder whether it’s credible that he be this short.

He ran a disappointing eighth from fifteen at Aintree losing out to Guitar Pete in the 4-Y-O Juvenile Hurdle. He was fairly well-backed there though and traded at 11/2 for the race, ultimately disappointing by over sixteen lengths.

The each-way shout here could be the five-year-old son of Galileo, Shelford, who lines up for Dan Skelton and will be seeking his third victory on the bounce this season. Laid up since late October, he’s been well-freshened and comes in off a Grade 3 handicap hurdle score at Chepstow, when he conquered a race of 12 at a 6/1 price tag. Look for him anywhere from 12/1 to 16/1.

He asserted himself really well on the run-in in his last race and will be a force to be reckoned with here if he gets the right type of ride from Harry Skelton. He’s also extremely well-weighted for this one despite the recent Grade 3 score. He’s right around the middle of the handicap right now and is set to run at 10-4.

The other one in that range to watch out for is likely Bayan who lines up for Gordon Elliott. He looks really good using this as his second effort of the season since coming up short at Leopardstown in flat handicap and finishing a very respectable 4/15 in a race worth 75k. He is perhaps more famous for finishing second to Thomas Edison in the Galway Handicap. Much will be expected of him here and he will be able to improve on his Cheltenham Festival third place finish (in a field of 28) in the Coral Cup. He’s a strong selection and looks good around 10/1 - 12/1.
