Red Cadeaux was also on our short-list but is being campaigned primarily in Asia at the moment so may remain over there or have some complications from constant international shipping considering how early he started his season this year. Cavalryman is a safe Godolphin horse to back and he looks like he will assert himself over 2m for the duration of the season.

The 4YO+ division is the bulk of our ticket and we have included the talented Camelot as he looks set for a full campaign against top class competition after having been last seen at the Breeders’ Cup. He ran the table last summer with wins in the Guineas, Derby and Irish Derby before losing at Doncaster to Encke after being sent off as the 2/5 favourite. He likely won’t miss a step this year and will partner up with Joseph O’Brien as well.
We have also included veteran St Nicholas Abbey - who always seems to be there-or-thereabouts in top Group 1 contests. While he may not have won quite so many last year he is always good for a few and he will be better having had a longer freshening during the off-season. He is proven competition and is well-rated so should be included for the amount of bonus races he is pointed at.
We have also included Godolphin’s Farhh, who is pointed at a number of top races and looks like he can tangle with anybody on the older Group 1 circuit. He is competitive at a range of distances and looks likely to get a few results going his way. He will also be getting lots of attention from his Godolphin trainers as they don’t have as many contenders to worry about this year.
Our final inclusion to the ticket is Soft Falling Rain - probably our biggest gamble on here. A talented Mike De Kock trainee who is unbeaten and really proved himself in Dubai, this talented son of National Assembly is pointed at the Ascot meeting and will likely remain in Britain afterwards if he stays healthy. If he takes to the climate and ships well, he will be very dangerous and is the type of runner who isn’t on every ticket - so a good late summer by him could be the difference between a cashing ticket and going home empty handed.
