Golden Soul must come back to his impressive effort in the Kentucky Derby if he’s going to be taken serious as a top contender in this generation. A ninth place finish in the Belmont wasn’t what connections were looking for but jockey Robby Albarado is back for another effort here. He looks like he would be helped by a sloppy surface but weather reports how that he has it all to do.

Expect him much higher than his current ante post price of 8/1.
Pick Of The Litter is a lightly-raced horse who hasn’t been seen since the Coolmore Lexington Stakes at Keeneland back in mid-April. Still just a maiden winner with a third-place effort in a Grade 3, he put in a solid work at Saratoga but will need to step it up in a big way in order to be a factor here. He is the current ante post long shot with a lengthy 25/1 price tag.
Vyjack won the Gotham Stakes back in March but failed to match that effort in the Wood Memorial when he could only muster a third place victory a length behind Verrazano. He did not run his race at all in the Derby and was beaten by over 50 lengths with his 18/20 performance in the Kentucky Derby. He also failed to show up properly in the Belmont and was a tame ninth place.
This could be his comeback race and that impressive recent work pattern shows that they expect him to carry his speed much longer this time. It will be the performance of a lifetime if Paco Lopez can get him the victory here. Vyjack is a 12/1 shot.
Expect the race to either finish with the top 3 contenders all hitting the wire at or around the same time. You can expect them to hang tough against each other, but the one to watch might be Micromanage at a hefty price as the bookmakers may be ignoring the most accomplished frontrunner in the mix.
