2015 Champions Stakes Betting Preview PT 2

Princes of Wales' Stakes winner Free Eagle has only been out twice this year but he is destined to line up in this race and do his best to avenge the loss he suffered at the hands of Noble Mission last year when mustering up a tame third place performance. He won on his seasonal debut in the aforementioned race at Royal Ascot before getting beaten in the Irish Champions Stakes by Golden Horn recently. He's priced anywhere from 4/1 all the way out to 13/2 with some major bookmakers and it's worth keeping an eye on him.

Godolphin's Jack Hobbs might be going for the Arc instead of the Champions Stakes so it's worth paying attention to his entries but that hasn't stopped some punters from backing him down all the way to a 4/1 price tag with some bookmakers though he can be spotted as high as 8/1 with several other solid ones.

Gleneagles is very much in the mix here and connections will think that his 1m2f is going to suit him a lot more than the 1m4f he had been competing at during various points this season after he conquered the 2000 Guineas. There is a lot to like about him and he will definitely be coming into the race in a very fresh capacity but you do have to wonder whether he will have lost a step having been off of the racecourse for so long. Right now only a few books have odds on him for the Champions Stakes but you can find him between 8/1 and 10/1.

Intilaaq represents Sheikh Hamdan's yard and he has only had one attempt at a Group 1 clash and that was when he was well beaten by Gleneagles in the 2000 Guineas finishing a full thirteen lengths off the pace in early May at Newmarket. He was able to get things back on track afterwards when he won a listed race and then he stepped up to a Group 3 contest recently and was able to win that by a solid five lengths. He appears to be progressing and was perhaps pushed too hard too early in the season and he looks to have forged a solid partnership with Paul Hanagan.

You'll also find the likes of Found trading anywhere from 8/1 all the way up to a hefty 16/1 margin that might make him a solid each-way selection. Postponed is trading anywhere from 8/1 all the way up to 14s and could be an interesting outside option for a lot of punters here. The mysterious Vadamos, who was recently seen conquering a Group 2 race at Baden Baden is taking some money here from certain books and is spotted as low as 7/1 with a general 10/1 price about him elsehwre. Time Test is as low as 8/1 and 12/1 generally while Elm Park remains a factor in this one too with a listing as low as 10/1 rising to a 16/1 shout.
