2016 Supreme Novices Hurdle Cheltenham Betting Tips PT 1

We’ve got another really exciting iteration of the perennial opener of the Cheltenham Festival this year as the Supreme Novices Hurdle appears to be a rather fascinating affair. The build-up to the race, which is always overbet considering its placement at the festival, had been rather subdued this year but punters are now piling on after a genuine favourite emerged at Punchestown.

Min, a five-year-old by Walk In The Park, rocketed to fame by capturing the Grade 2 Moscow Flyer Hurdle by nearly ten lengths after emerging in a Punchestown maiden back in mid-December.

He defeated a tough group of 21 contenders on that day in his maiden effort and the massive 14 length margin had punters excited for his next outing, which saw him come out of the gates at a minuscule price tag of around 1/7 with most of the major bookmakers.

His price now hovers around a 13/8 margin at the moment and you can expect him to get down even lower with a number of books pricing him at 5/4 though he tends to hover at the aforementioned price for the moment. There is always a significant factor as the Irish will be looking to make a bold statement against the English contenders in the early part of the festival.

Nicky Henderson has the second favourite who comes into the race pointed specifically at it having declined other festival entries. Altior is available at a price of around 6/1 right now and will be seeking his fourth score on the bounce. Currently undefeated for the year and forming a good partnership with Nico de Boinville, he comes in with the key reference of actually having won at Cheltenham.
