November Handicap at Doncaster Betting Tips PT 2

Penhill is the other horse trading around that same price tag and he’s also fresh off a victory, this one at Haydock in an eerily similar race to the one that Argus scored in - a Class 2 handicap paying 12k. He was held up on the day and emerged with an excellent turn of foot to conquer the rest of the field.

Unlike Argus, Penhill doesn’t boast the prior score over Doncaster but the Luca Cumani-trained gelding has a much lengthier career and it appears as though they have him relatively sorted out. He’s not really won a handicap at this purse level before so he will be up against stiffer competition than he’s usually able to beat - if he can step it up and move forward off the victory (something he has been unable to do in the past) then he could be fa factor.

The aforementioned Mistiroc is also in the mix here and the bookmakers have him trading at anywhere from 10/1 to a 12/1 margin. He’s had a bit of an up and down season this year with a fairly heavy workload throughout August into October, having run six times inside two months, winning just a single race - a Class 2 handicap at Ayr in mid-September.

His effort against Argus in his last outing actually stands out as one of his better races and you’ll find to respect the body of work that he has put together so far in the grand scheme of things if you are looking at the place market but, by and large, you don’t get the feeling he troubles the leaders here but does get a bit of weight on them.

Saeed Bin Suroor saddles up Super Kid for the Godolphin yard and this one remains winless since breaking his maiden on the second time of asking back in 2014. He notably beat Maftool, who went on to beat Mubtahiij in the UAE 2000 Guineas last year. He has been knocking on the door in some lower class handicaps with three finishes in the money in a series of Class 3 handicaps at Doncaster, Newmarket and Kempton over the past few months.

Look for him to outrun his odds here and at least be able to finish in the money since he’s likely been pointed at this one for a while. He’s well-weighted and trading as high as a 16/1 margin right now with several different bookmakers.
