1000 GUINEAS BETTING TIPS FROM WILLIAM HILL

Rainbow View is the extremely hot favourite to secure the 2009 Stan James 1000 Guineas and we'll see her put his 100% win record to the test against a very strong field that includes Serious Attitude, Cuis Ghaire, Lahaleeb and Heart Shaped. Rainbow View is currently available at 5/4 or 11/10 with most major wagering sites and I can see her at odds-on by post time. You're going to see a lot of late movement towards this horse as I think a few higher-profile runners will likely be scratched late on before the actual race begins. Despite having not raced yet this year, Rainbow View brings 4 wins from 4 races, 3 wins from 3 stakes races and an incredible partnership with Jimmy Fortune into the mix. This horse has virtually everything going for it, including back to back victories at Newmarket last year. Since we're on the topic of 100% records, Serious Attitude boasts three wins from three races (also with Jimmy Fortune on board) one of which was at Newmarket. One of these wins came against Aspen Darlin, who is also in the 1000 Guineas, and this is certainly something to remember. Serious Attitude boasts an excellent price of around 5/1 and is certainly your value bet compared to Rainbow View. In actuality, a reverse forecast on these two is a great bet. Cuis Ghaire comes from a great background, but hasn't done particularly well outside of Group 3 racing. The step up to Group 2 at Leopardstown didn't exactly pan out with an eighth place finish marring a solid record up until that point. I think this is a solid runner, but I can't see a win coming against Rainbow View or Serious Attitude. Currently, the going for this weekend's Newmarket fixtures is listed as good, but with rain in the forecast for the weekend, we could see things turned upside down very quickly.
