2000 GUINEAS BETTING TIPS FROM WILLIAM HILL
With horseplayers all over the land checking out the form guides for the 2000 Guineas and 1000 Guineas in anticipation of one of the world's biggest racing weekends, we've put together our selections and tips for anybody getting involved with Guineas betting at Newmarket. The antepost market for the Stan James 2000 Guineas is quite competitive with three strong selections at this point. We've got 7/2 Delegator alongside 4/1 Rip Van Winkle and Mastercraftsman right up there at 9/2. This is a very strong field here. News has just surfaced that Rip Van Winkle is carrying a bruised foot and may not be in action at all this Saturday. This means that there will be a drop on Delegator and Mastercraftsmen, so if you're backing either of those two get in there now. I can't see them risking Rip Van Winkle at this point in the season if there is any question marks over his safety or fitness. It may just be a stone bruise, but that could also complicate things too much for team Ballydoyle. The Al Maktoum's have reportedly entered the fray for the 2000 Guineas with Ouqba. He struck at the European Free Handicap at Newmarket and brings some solid form into this one. Despite the question marks over Rip Van Winkle, I like Mastercraftsman for this race on an each-way bet. I think Ouqba will factor into the equation and should at least be on your show tickets for this one. These are young, ambitious horses and their yards will be pushing for an early strike to set the tone for the rest of the flat racing season. PREDICTIONMastercraftsman x Delegator x Ouqba
