2009 ASHES DAY 2 AND 3 LIVE BETTING TIPS
Ricky Ponting and his charges continue to see their odds rise as Andrew Strauss' England continues to put together a very solid performance with the bat and, currently, the ball. Kevin Pietersen looked to be on absolutely top form with the bat, but fell for a disappointing (for him) 69. Top UK bookmaker William Hill has put together a stellar selection on live betting odds and you can take advantage of a number of different options such as outright match betting or method of dismissal. England have been bowling very well during the first few sessions and Matt Prior looks in quality form- having taken a solid catch to secure Andrew Flintoff's wicket of Hughes. The Aussies went into this one as distinct favourites, but the draw is commanding the best price at the moment with a listing of evens. England aren't far off the pace and if they can bowl out the Aussies for less than 400 they will be in good shape. This pitch is going to turn very hard on days 4 and 5 so once Graeme Swann and Monty Panesar step in I would be backing LBW's all day long. England currently command an outright price of 13/8 with the Aussies sitting at a long 7/2. It looks, at the moment, like they will be pushing for a draw. If you're betting on method of dismissal, Not Caught generally pays out at 6/5 and that covers LB's, wickets and run outs. Caught by keeper is 7/2 and thats excellent value with Matty Prior back in keeping form. Caught and bowled commands a 20/1 price. Caught by any outfielder is 11/8 for most players. You can back an individual batsman to go out this way or you can just back the Next Wicket method, albeit at slimmer odds. Cardiff tests and a first Ashes test not happening in England are admittedly a bit strange, but why not make some cash from chaos as our boys look in solid form for this quirky and unpredictable test series.
