2009 Australian Open Semi Finals Betting Tips
With my predictions for the Quarter-Finals coming in at 100% correct, I'm taking a fair amount of momentum into the final four of the 2009 Australian Open. I'm confident that this one is being played out to set up the epic Nadal/Federer Final that everybody, aside from Andy Murray, has been hoping for. Rafael Nadal faces off against upstart Fernando Verdasco and Rafa is indeed a very heavy favourite. Listed on Betfair at 1.17 compared to Fernando's 6.4, I expect Nadal's price to drop to the 1.1 region once we get closer to the opening set. Your real money-making opportunity on this one is on the first set correct score and I'm backing Nadal at 6-3 which pays out at 3.15. I'm taking him to secure the win in four sets, which pays out at 1.85 (not far off four sets listed at 1.85). Roddick vs Federer is another equally exciting match-up and this one has Roddick listed at a full 7.2 to get past the Swiss master. Federer pays a mere 1.15 on Betfair, and I also expect that to fluctuate. I don't think this one will necessarily be a walk in the park for Federer and I actually consider this one to be tighter than the Nadal/Verdasco match. This one will go to a fourth set at least and you can capitalize on that at 2.76 for the four and 6.8 for the match to go into a fifth set. If you're looking to capitalize on some quality odds on either Federer or Nadal, then you should start looking at the tournament winner category. Roger Federer is backed at 2.12 to win and Rafa Nadal is just behind at 2.26. I expect this one to look closer to 1.9 for Federer and 2.4 for Nadal should they both progress to the final. If you think Federer will take the Grand Slam title, then back him now, because you won't get odds above evens for much longer.
